DSC_9777. Camogli in Liguri, Italy!!
What was supposed to be a sunny holiday break turned out to be a week of rain! Lucky enough I was able to make some reasonable shots of the beautiful and colorful villages at the Italian Riviera!

We set up hoping for a reasonable sunset and we were not disappointed. It was such a serene spot with the lapping of the water against the shore and the setting sun casting different colours across the sky. Beautiful.
This is an extremely photogenic place :-)
I hope to see a lot more of this in the coming weeks. We are setting off first thing in the morning on the start of our 1000 mile journey to the south of France. We will be away for 6 weeks so I hope we can get some reasonable wifi, and hopefully some decent photographs !
RKO_2147. Almost too close to get a reasonable good and sharp shot! Not perfect this one, but giving you an idea of the impact of the dive.

Large Red Damselfly (male) a surprise find, Large Reds are the first Damsels to arrive in the Valley usually at the end of March, early April, great to find one this time of the year and in reasonable condition.

Happy Fence Friday
It's almost the weekend. Hang in there ..;) I'm pulling one out of the archives here. Can't believe it's been 8 years since I took this picture. Where does the time go.
Here's a link, www.yelp.com/biz/mickeys-bar-and-grill-aransas-pass
The website says the prices are reasonable but I don't remember it like that ..;)
I was happy to get any sort of shot consideing I was on a boat in a reasonable swell and the Bald Eagle was some distance away! Taken on our wildlife cruise in Bar Harbor.
Drenching of the Model Boating Pond in Parliament Hill exposed a long forgotten car from the 70's or 80's.
May need a little attention here and there but the tyres are still in pretty good nick and comes with a full tank. First reasonable offer will secure. Call now to reserve. :-))
For "Macro Mondays" group theme of "Blue"
Another late attempt and not what I had first contemplated.
A bit of a challenge to get a range of blues without introducing anything else - at least it looks reasonable on my monitor!
The little blue jug is just 2cm tall and is balanced inside a blue glass drinking mug - all a bit precarious! Lighting is a simple desk lamp and the attempt was handheld!
(Yes, it could be sharper!)
As usual all very simple! KISS

A combination of this Common Hawker's erratic flight and my lack of skill focusing on moving objects caused me to spend nearly an hour sat beside a small moorland pool last weekend trying to get a few reasonable shots. It was good fun, nonetheless,
when I took this picture, I couldn't find a reasonable setting to get a good result.
Today I tried it again. This is how I perceived the view at that time, maybe even a bit stronger in the colours, but I didn't want to exaggerate.
Not a total Washout at St. Mary's this Morning, 10 mins of reasonable colour was more than I'd anticipated
I've recently been told that my use of the term "Squinty Pier" to describe this architectural landscape feature is incorrect. I thought the term "Squinty Pier" was a pretty accurate description, it is after all a pier and it's not exactly straight, but it is not the correct term to use.
The locals apparently call the breakwater "The Blocks" which whilst I suppose is a fairly reasonable and accurate term to use it's not nearly as much fun to say as the "Squinty Pier".
So for the sake of political correctness and to avoid conflict with any local tradition here is my most recent image of the "The Blocks" consisting of a view showing a pier that is awfully squint at sundown.

After hours of searching for reasonable instructions, guides, and help, this represents my first attempt to stack three photos.
I ended up with a dense and just as shallow macro as usual. I need to a) increase or more radically change focus points; b) find out how to stack, since I used photomerge and ended up with what Adobe named a panorama; 42) use a tripod instead of my monopod or elbows–can’t recall which now; and c) find out more about stacking for this old version of Photoshop 6.
I do not want to pay Adobe monthly fees for CC.
I will try again. Perhaps.
I think, with reasonable doubt, it is Austin Motor Company J2 Omnivan from 1962. There are not probably too many around, and the only way I identified it was, that Austin sponsored Canadian Race Communication Association, which is the emblem on the side of the vehicle. I am really proud of myself. Such vans were used for milk, bread delivery and even as a police or school vehicle.

Ma proposition pour Macro Mondays sur le thème "Biscuit"
J'ai mangé presque tout le paquet pendant la prise des 98 images qui composent ce stack, est-ce bien raisonnable ?
I ate almost the whole packet while taking the 98 images that make up this stack, is that reasonable?

A clear view of the spread tail feathers is necessary for a definitive identification, but this is about 95% likely to be an Allen's rather than the very similar Rufous hummingbird. Newport Beach Back Bay, California
This photograph was processed using Topaz DeNoise and/or Sharpen software. Topaz software is AI-powered and can nearly eliminate background noise while retaining and even enhancing details from the primary subject— it’s almost magical. It can take grainy high-ISO images and make them useable, and can make already good quality images really pop. I recommend checking it out, and if you use the link below to download it you can get a 15% discount off of the already-reasonable purchase price:
When I saw this guy sitting on the fence with the sun setting behind him, I instantly had a vision of a wonderful shot. I raced in side grabbed the camera and stated snapping away. Unfortunately I couldn't escape the dreaded lens flare. I tried removing the UV filter(a reasonable one) but there was no improvement. This was the best of what I got. It's not what I had in mind, but I kind of like it anyway.
I've been trying for several weeks to get a reasonable black and white shot. It appears I am not a monochrome kinda guy. Oh well.
Oh, Happy New Year, I guess.
While I have gone to some extremes in shooting at night, most of them have been semi-reasonable, but this one: this was a whole new ball of wax. With vines and trees growing so thick that finding a clear edge of the water was a quest, wading in water with my boots hoping it wouldn't pour over the top, testing each step before committing. At a familiar location, I can be set up in 10 minutes, this was anything but. Over an hour working my way through the thick undergrowth and murky water, the wait of my target began. Getting one train to test my set up yielded positive results, and some minor tweaking, what might be the simplest looking night shot I have done in a long time, was without a doubt the largest shot I have ever done and the hardest, all for a less than perfect reflection, but perfect enough because I will never do that set up ever again.
Emperor Dragonfly (Anax imperator). I really enjoy watching these large dragonflies hawking and am happy when I can get a reasonable shot of them.
…… Thought this Padstow view would look reasonable in Mono, pleased with Lightroom tools and indeed the shot taken by my phone - excellent DoF & detail for a phone. This view is a short climb up the hill from where we stop with the caravan - Dennis Cove. Alan:-)

Well the hysteria was all mine!
You may recall from a few days back my post about finding the Latham's Snipe in a little local wetland. I did a count for them as part of the Latham's Snipe project where they monitor numbers across their range in Victoria on specific days. I thought there may have been at least 2 birds.
We counted close to 30!
It was a very exciting find. Sites that have around 20 are considered Significant Sites under our Federal Legislation (Environmental Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999) which lends its weight to the conversation of this area if was ever threatened by development.
These birds are so hard to photograph. They can be 10 m in front of you and you can't see them until they flush out of the ground and fly away very fast.
The above image was taken after the count and is of two birds that I put into the one image so you can get a reasonable look at them.
Only one snake that the Sherpa almost stood on.
Ridiculous how such an encounter can bring so much excitement to a bird nerd. But still in lockdown (though I can smell freedom in the air-well done Melbournians) I will take all the excitement I can get.
I went back three times trying to get a reasonable shot of this little beauty. He was so quick and the challenge with Fairywrens is that they love to hide amongst the think little shrubs. You can often hear the tease of their chorus of chatter but barely glimpse them.
Taken at Lake Tyrrell.
That is a reasonable conclusion once you see the two huts and the swimming white ducks there even though the recluse is nowhere to be found... The truth being, some people are still left behind economically despite the Chinese government already succeeded in taking 700 million out of poverty in China.

salt lake The lake lies at an elevation of 4,718 m, and has a surface area of 1,870 square kilometres. It is the highest salt lake in the world, and largest salt lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region. However, it is not the largest salt lake in the Tibetan Plateau. That title belongs to KokoNor མཚོ་སྔོན་ མཚོ་ཁྲི ་ཤོར་རྒྱལ་མོ་ (almost twice the size of Namtso). Namtso has five uninhabited islands of reasonable size, in addition to one or two rocky outcrops. The islands have been used for spiritual retreat by pilgrims who walk over the lake's frozen surface at the end of winter, carrying their food with them. They spend the summer there, unable to return to shore again until the water freezes the following winter. Once a reasonable common sight but no longer so.
Agile and fast, this bird hunts for its prey along the verge of waterways or the roc ky coast.
I often wonder if the so called self introduced White faced Heron has displaced this bird.
As a boy in Tologa bay, I well remember watching perhaps a dozen Blue's flying in and out of the caves created by wind and wave action in which they nested.
Today non are seen there.
Im obviously lying in the water to get the shot using my old D7000 while my usual camera is away for servicing.....
An older image reposted as Im unable to get about doing what I love due to family illness which limits me at this time, so please excuse me if a repeat image "pops up " again...
Yet another panorama today, view of Burghausen, Germany, from the Austrian side, once again I uploaded a reasonable viewing size, but some people for whatever reason only see the small version, I also see only the small version of my own panoramas even when I try to zoom in, anyway, happy Tuesday to everyone.
I thought this little flower on the pond's edge would give me an excuse to practice focus bracketing with a wide angle lens.
The focus bracketing didn't work out very well with this scene, but luckily I did some exposure bracketing as well at about f/18 to get reasonable depth of focus.
It might look moody here but it was a reasonable hike in some serious heat to get to this lake, the echoing thunder shortly after was a bit worrying but thankfully we didn't get caught in the rain on this day

After a full day spent with Colin the Cuckoo - decided to see if I could find any wobblers. A rece the evening before gave me a reasonable idea where there was an active pair and I returned the following morning to stand and wait a respectful distance away from where I thought they were nesting. Have never managed to get a shot with a male bringing in caterpillars before - as I usually go after them in March when there are none about.

Getting a reasonable close up of this superb dragonfly earlier was an exercise in patience. Every time I got close it either got attacked by a rival male or got blown off its perch by a gust of wind! Taken at Centenary Riverside Nature Reserve, Rotherham.
Today a sheep with a very difficult birth,

With a reasonable amount of ascent behind me the route levels off as you pass Rough Crag. This photo was taken at this point and looks towards High Street, also known as Racehorse Hill. The body of water nestled in the bowl below is Blea Water.
Riparia riparia >The Sand Martin, I spent six hours today trying to get a reasonable in flight shot, battling with the lack of light the sunny spells were few and far between, these things move so quick and are quite small so getting them in the frame and in focus is a bit of a challenge to say the least! :)

Visited friends in the Rothbury area yesterday and took a stroll across the hills. Lovely sunset and thankfully in a reasonable lace to see it. (iPhone shot processed in Snapseed.)
Not the best light or cleanest photo I've ever taken of a perched LEO but I was pleased to see this one
It was taken at the first site I ever visited back in April 2015. I can count on one hand the number of photos I've taken here. The birds at this site have always been nocturnal, usually only venturing out in twilight at the earliest.
Not only was it out hunting earlier than usual, it then landed on a post within a reasonable distance for a couple of photos, making it for me, a little bit special :)
First time getting reasonable shots of these guys! Interesting fact:Of the world's 85 sandpiper species, only the Solitary Sandpiper and the Green Sandpiper of Eurasia routinely lay eggs in tree nests instead of on the ground, and is the least studied of the sandpipers due to it,s remote breeding locations, and the fact that they usually migrate alone!
